About Me

Collaboration is the theme of my musical life. My first piano lessons, taught by my mother, included duets. I work frequently with singers & string players in a variety of recitals & recording projects. I love “finding the story” & composing new music for lyricists, playwrights, & choreographers. With plenty of stage experience, I’m just as happy conducting a musical theater pit or playing a night of jazz under the summer stars as I am in the concert hall. Special experiences have included my time as a member of Tria Fata Piano Trio (2009 - 2013); working as the Acting Artist Director of NEXTEnsemble (2018 - 2019); creating new scores and arrangements during the pandemic for Aubrey Adams-MacMillan (mezzo), Alison DeBona & Rex Tilton (ArtEmotionUSA), and Jessica Baynes (Choreographer); and playing for Kristin Chenoweth with the Utah Symphony (2022).

As the Company Pianist at Ballet West, I love to incorporate all kinds of musical favorites into my playlists for dance class. Dancers might hear anything from Scarlatti & Chopin to Jerome Kern & Katy Perry. I’m thrilled to perform as a member of the Ballet West Orchestra under the direction of Maestro Jared Oaks. Favorite productions include Rodeo (Agnes de Mille/Aaron Copland), In the Night (Jerome Robbins/Frederic Chopin), & Les Noces (Bronislava Nijinska/Igor Stravinsky).

Teaching music is a joy! I love working with piano students of all ages & levels. With over twenty years of experience (and rigorous training in Piano Performance & Pedagogy from Weber State University), I’m able to help pianists build strong sight-reading skills, greater facility & musicality at the keyboard, insightful repertoire selection, & performance techniques that give my students confidence in themselves & their own artistry when they share their love of music with others.
